Card Counting Facts

In 1956, Roger Baldwin, a mathematician first proved that card counting can be used to beat the casino game of blackjack. Since then, other people like Lawrence Revere, Ken Uston, Edward Thorpe and Stamford Wong have individually added to the art of counting cards. It is simply a method used to tell players when they are highly likely to lose or win the next hand in a blackjack game. It tells you when big cards are more than small cards and this is crucial to winning the game. The main things card counting tells players are: when the probability the dealer will break (get over 21) is high, when it looks like players will get better hands, and also when their odds of getting blackjack have improved.

With the dawn of the computer age, simulators have been invented. They can calculate and predict any outcome within 99.98% accuracy. Simulators are applied in a lot fields including science, math and aerodynamics. In a short period, these machines can be used to simulate any event thousands of times so they can analyze the outcome for results.

In gaming, these simulators have been used in calculating the exact way a player should play, the exact bet a player should make, the correct amount of bankroll needed for any table size and the exact winning a player will make each hour they play. However, only a handful of people have done this before. The strategies of counting card typically have three different levels. Each individual card is assigned a value and this determines its accuracy and complexity. In a game of blackjack, as cards are dealt, the remaining cards are affected.

As each card is dealt, assigning a value to them allows players to mathematically determine if the cards remaining in the deck have increased their odds of winning or not. The way each card affects the cards remaining differs slightly from the other. This is the only reason why Level 2 and Level 3 have counts. The advantage of applying a count in Level 2 and Level 3 is that the accuracy is better. This will increase a player’s overall profit. Balancing ease and accuracy perfectly is very important.

Level 1

The Level 1 count is also called the High/Low count. The method is very easy to learn. However, the amount of profit it yields is the least compared to the others. The value assigned to each card is either -1 or +1.

Below are the assigned values.

Aces and 10’s: As these cards are dealt, they count as -1.

2 through 6: As these cards are dealt, they count as +1.

7 through 9: These cards are not assigned any value. They are not counted if they are dealt.

Level 2 and Level 3

Each card is assigned a different value in Level 2 and 3 counts (not just -1 or +1). The value assigned to some cards in the Level 2 count are -2 and +2, and the value of some cards in Level 3 count -3 or +3.

At a blackjack table, the most difficult count to do is the Level 3 count. The stress involved is much and it may cause some crucial mistakes. This can cost players their overall advantage.

Some factors affect the overall benefit of counting cards. They include:

Knowing basic strategy

The technique used in converting running count to true count

The rate hands are played per hour.

The type of level count being applied

The rules of the casino.

There are other factors as well. However, the accuracy of your count determines how much this factors will affect your game.

What Countries Allow Online Gambling

Gambling on the internet involves a lot of regulations. Firstly, before you start to play, it is very important to know if the country you are playing from allows online gambling. Online casinos are starting to rapidly grow in terms of popularity over the past couple of years as a lot of people are continually registering with the gaming websites so they can enjoy various casino games. Enforcement and Regulation

The regulation on the web-based gaming industry is very heavy. However, because of its anonymous nature, it has been admitted by experts that monitoring it is difficult. This creates a problem where a ban is placed on online gambling because it is practically impossible to know the particular players in the country that plays from their home. This makes one wonder why countries place bans on internet gambling at all as such sites are very easy to access and equally difficult to monitor. In most cases, instead of prohibition, regulation is a better option. The best thing to do is to properly check for countries that allow internet gambling to be sure you are not breaking any law while playing the casino games you like. It will also serve as a guarantee that one gets to keep any money one makes online.
